How can I distribute my music through TF?
Just register your band (which is 100% free), then upload any original music you've created that you'd like to sell on TF. We'll make it available immediately in our TF Music Store and start paying you royalties on all sales. All without any obligation or contracts. It's that simple.

How can I use TF to promote my band and/or music?
When you register your band, we set up a "Profile Website" for you. In addition to providing details about your band such as influences and a biography, every song you upload to TF automatically gets listed here. This Website, which is all about your band and your music, is provided to you at no cost. You can even use it as your band's primary website if you wish. It's also great to give out to your fans as it provides a one-stop place to preview and buy your music.

I'm a musician but I don't live in the United States. Can I still use participate?
Absolutely. TF is open to all artists worldwide.

Can I sell my music that I've uploaded to TF elsewhere?
Absolutely. We put no restrictions on you whatsoever. You can sell your songs anywhere or any other way you want...give them away if you want; it makes no difference to us. We're just here to help you sell more of your music...without getting in your way. If you'd like to read over our actual Music Upload Agreement, click here.

What format does the music I upload need to be in?
We need it in stereo MP3 format, encoded between 128 - 192 kbps (we prefer 192 kbps!).

Where in the world will the music that I upload to TF be available?
Everywhere. Your songs will be available anywhere there is Internet access.

What exactly am I agreeing to when I upload music to be sold at TF?
See the Music Upload Agreement.

Can I tell other musicians, friends, and our fans about TF?
Yes, we will LOVE you for helping us spread the word about TF! Look for the "Tell-A-Friend" link on the site.

How do I get paid when my songs are sold at TF?
Each time one of your songs is sold, it will be registered in your account balance. You can check your account balance anytime by logging in at the Artist Zone. When your account reaches $20, we will either cut you a check or send you payment via PayPal. All payments are made the first week of each month.

How much do songs cost at TF?
We wanted to create a clean, simple, easy way to purchase music at TF. We also wanted to pay good, healthy royalties to our artists. What we came up with is something we call "Track Paks."

Track Paks are song credits that you purchase. Each time you buy a song, your available credits is decreased by one. You can purchase credits whenever you want. The more credits you buy, the lower the per song cost is.

A "10-pak" (10 songs) is just $9.99, or 99 cents a song.
A "20-pak" is just $17.80, or 89 cents a song.
A "40-pak" is just $31.60, or 79 cents a song.

Special note: The 20 and 40 paks include valuable free bonuses -- making them truly excellent deals.

What if someone doesn't want to buy credits and justs want to purchase a single "right now?"
We allow this, too. Note: Single download purchases require payment via PayPal.

How much do I earn each time someone buys one of my songs?
On Unassisted Sales:
For songs purchased for 99 cents, you'll earn 74 cents (75%)
For songs purchased for 89 cents, you'll earn 64 cents (72%)
For songs purchased for 79 cents, you'll earn 54 cents (68%)

On Assisted Sales:
For songs purchased for 99 cents, you'll earn 49 cents (50%)
For songs purchased for 89 cents, you'll earn 39 cents (44%)
For songs purchased for 79 cents, you'll earn 29 cents (37%)

What are "Unassisted" and "Assisted" sales?
TuneFlow is partnered with the SFI Marketing Group. SFI is one of the world's largest and most diverse affiliate networks with over 150,000 affiliates in more than 200 countries worldwide, representing thousands of Websites and other marketing channels. SFI affiliates promote TuneFlow, its music, and artists. When an SFI affiliate generates a sale at TuneFlow, a portion of the sale is paid to the affiliate. Hence, you earn a little less on sales generated by SFI affiliates. Of course, these must be considered sales that likely would not have occurred at all were it not for the SFI affiliate's actions. These are what we call "Assisted Sales."

"Unassisted Sales," as the name suggests, are sales that occur without any involvement from any SFI affiliate. For example, when you refer your friends and fans to TuneFlow, any sales that occur will be "unassisted" so you would earn the higher amounts. Likewise, when someone finds TuneFlow from a search engine, or via the Tell-A-Friend, or learns about TuneFlow from a press release, blog, or other publication, the sale will usually be "unassisted" and, hence, pay you the higher amounts.

By using "Assisted" and "Unassisted" sales, you get the best of both worlds. You can earn up to 75% (up to 88% of actual profits) on sales you are responsible for -- while at the same time profiting from the powerful "marketing muscle" of one of the world's largest marketing networks (SFI).

Where does the rest of the money go that isn't paid to the artist and/or to the SFI affiliate?
What's left goes to TF, which after overhead, bandwidth/server costs, etc., is about 10 cents or less on average.

What's the story on free downloads? Do I earn anything on free downloads of my songs?
TF Members can earn free download credits by earning RFPs (Review Feedback Points). A member can earn one RFP for doing a detailed review of a TuneFlow Tournament song. For every three RFPs earned, one free download credit is awarded, which can be used on any TuneFlow song. No royalties are earned on free downloads.

Should I be concerned about some of my songs going out for free?
First of all, with hundreds of TuneFlow artists and thousands of songs to choose from, you likely won't have a significant number of your songs downloaded for free. When you do, however, it's a good thing because giving a "free taste" has been proven again and again as a great strategy for building fan bases and generating paid sales for your other music. Also, by TuneFlow offering free MP3's, we're able to attract large numbers of people to TuneFlow -- which benefits every TuneFlow artist!

Can you get my songs that I upload to TF into Apple's iTunes Music Store?
We hope to be able to provide this service in the future. Stay tuned.

Are there any restrictions on the music, lyrics, etc.?
The following content is not acceptable at Tuneflow and may result in your song being removed from the system or other disciplinary actions:
• Songs with lyrics promoting hatred or containing personal attacks
• Songs containing sexually explicit lyrics
• Songs that promote violence or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or physical disability
• Songs that promote illegal activities

ARTIST OF THE DAY

Lex Zaleta

What started out as three "pretty good songs" has become a catalog of over 300 recorded and ready-for-promotion tunes registered with BMI. My own musicianship is limited, so I am looking for real musicians to get my songs heard by a much larger - and much more appreciative - audience....
