Darrell has always loved listening to, playing and performing country music, and in 1990 he ventured into songwriting. His friends and fans loved his original songs, so Darrell headed to the west coast of Canada settling in Vancouver, BC. It didn't take long for Darrell's singing and songwriting talents to be noticed by the west coast music industry. Darrell was signed to a management contract by Silver Bow Management of Vancouver, BC in 1996. Darrell recorded his debut CD while in Vancouver and released 2 singles both of which received radio play.

Darrell spent the next several years performing the Vancouver club circuit as well as Western Canada and North Western US outdoor festivals. He has performed on the same shows with Rick Tippe, The Cruzeros, Steel Horse, Derringer, Laurie Thain, Aaron Pritchet, Farmers Daughter, The Irish Rovers, and Mark Chesnut. Darrell is continuously writing new original songs and performs his own original songs along with contemporary & traditional country cover songs and some classic rock favourites.
